Grandma And Her Little Helper
This week we see my grandma. I anticipate meeting her, though she’s grown a bit stubborn in her later years. I will not embarrass her by divulging her age, but let’s just suppose she’s a woman with exhaustively practiced wisdom.
The last time I visited her I brought my portable Yamaha keyboard so I could play her some music. She relished it, but unfortunately since she is not all there, she kept interrupting me to ask me how to clean her computer. Yes, she really uses a computer. And maybe she was interrupting me because I’m simply that bad at playing the keyboard.
I always discover something puzzling at her place when I see her. Last time, I discovered several books on penny stocks on her cocktail table. My grandmother learning about buying penny stock? That is bizarre. I wonder what I’ll discover on her coffee table this time.
This week will make for a busy visit. We have to put in her different Emtek door knobs and air conditioner filters then repair her garden cart. I additionally need to take her old pots and pans to charity as she just bought a new set of pots and pans to supplant them. As a reward, she claims to also have purchased one of the best ice cream makers and the greatest of all the electic coffee makers. I’m thankful, but I also must laugh softly as she invariably claims to have or use only the very best of this or that.
If everything goes well, she’ll employ both to dish me some fabulous coffee in the morning and ice cream in the evening. That sounds like more than reward enough for my assistance. I’m happy to assist her for nothing, but a bit of robust java and sweat ice cream does not hurt.
